For ten years, legoland CA in Carlsbad has brought fun and adventure with over 50 rides, shows and attractions geared toward lego-lovers and kids under 12. Don't worry, though; this Southern California theme park is fun for all ages and interests.
Nine different areas of the park are available for you to explore, each with their own themes and activities. With so many activities to choose from, everyone is sure to enjoy a trip to legoland.
- The Beginning is just that; where your Legoland CA adventure begins! Here's where you enter the park and can find The Big Shop, offering the largest choice of Lego gear around.
- Land of Adventure has five attractions to get you going, including Dune Raiders, Pharaoh's Revenge, and the Indiana Jones-like Lost Kingdom Adventure.
- Thundering through Dino Island is the Coastersaurus, a rollercoaster just right for kids.
- Explore Village lets children roam the wilds of Africa on Safari Trek, home to Lego lions, giraffes, and more.
- Fun Town includes the popular attractions, Volvo Driving School and Fun Town Fire Academy. At the driving school, both big and little kids earn their very own driver's license. For a nominal fee, parents can purchase a laminated license and lanyard for children to keep, while Fun Town Fire Academy encourages families to work together as they race to put out a fire, competing against other families to see who comes out on top.
- Pirate Shores is for landlubbers and scalliwags. During hot days, this is the place to get wet on fun adventures like Treasure Falls, Splash Battle and Soak n' Sail. Bringing a change of clothes is highly recommended!
- The Dragon is another coaster ride, found in Castle Hill. Let kids run free at The Hideaways, a gigantic play structure with rope ladders and wooden catwalks.
- Mini Land USA. This reproduction of different parts of the U. S. is made entirely of Lego. View New Orleans, San Francisco's Pier 39 and more in miniature. Lego Master Builders like to have fun when they build, so keep an eye out for Elvis Presley in New York's Grand Central Station and a man peeking out of the manhole cover in downtown Washington, DC.
With a 5-acre water park scheduled to open Summer 2010 and the new SeaLife Aquarium right next door, Legoland CA is poised to become a vacation destination for families from all over the world.
